I have this problem with Acer Aspire ES1-512 after I'll restored it the default setting of the BIOS. But fortunately I found the solution on how to solve it.
Here it is:
1. Restart you laptop and press F2 to enter BIOS setup.
2. Go to Main and find Touchpad.
3. Once it found, Set it to Basic instead of Advanced.
4. Lastly go to exit and save changes.
That's it, after the restart you mouse touchpad is working. Enjoy..! SOLVED.
